This ocean wave simulator was done by David Li. http://bit.ly/1aqOtLU. Check it out here. WebGL CSS 3D & Canvas and some other animation and java script stuff that I really don’t understand, but… holy crap this is cool. The power of CSS 3 gradients, pretty bad ass.
OGS had the pleasure of updating the identity for another running of the Turtle Trot 5k Fun Run in Limon, Nicaragua. The event benefits sea turtle preservation by raising funds to help with controlled and protected harvests and releases of baby sea turtles from the beaches of Nicaragua. Check out the fun artwork.
A crappy day of surfing is better than an awesome day of pretty much anything else! …Messing around with a malfunctioning GoPro camera at Rancho Santana, Nicaragua.

I had the pleasure of attending the Direct Marketing Assoc’s annual conference in Chicago this year. DMA says it best, so I’ll let them sum it up for you: A week-long celebration of the art and science — of the possible and the practical. We’ll share ideas, innovations and case studies presented by over 200 global marketing leaders from some of the world’s top brands. We’ll examine subjects as diverse as: How to win in the multiscreen “micro-moment”, Channeling your inner data-geek, The collective brilliance of crowd-sourced creativity, Bringing your brand to life through data, The regulatory clouds of data privacy. Plus a bunch more!

One of the places I go for inspiration when working in the discovery phase for a logo is LostType Foundry’s blog. It’s a group of random type, lettering and graphic design related items displayed in a clean blog… plus it’s also connected to Lost Type’s Pay-What-You-Will type co-op. They are currently in the middle of field trip to NYC looking for inspiration, from which I’m sure we’ll get a few nice affordable typefaces. Check out their field trip blog here.
Of course, I love sailing… but I don’t have to say that this 34th America’s Cup has outdone themselves with not only bringing this once exclusive and relatively far-off sport right into the lap of millions of people around the world, just because I love sailing… BUT THEY HAVE!
